Getting Started in the U.S.

Investing in the United States

With its vast domestic market, transparent legal system, and the most innovative companies in the world, the United States is the world’s premier business location.  If you are considering investing in the United States, or exporting to the United States, the following resources may help:

  • SelectUSA.gov provides easy access to federal-level programs and services related to business investment.  The website complements the activities of our states – the primary drivers of economic development in the United States.
  • The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) provides beneficiary countries in Sub-Saharan Africa with liberal access to the U.S. market.
  • USAID’s West Africa Trade and Investment Hub, based in Accra, promotes trade with and within the region.
  • You can contact the U.S. Embassy’s Economic and Commercial Section for additional information.
