    Location: Sierra Leone, countrywide

    Event: Presidential Inauguration celebrations will take place on Saturday, May 12th, in Sierra Leone.  The official ceremony will be held at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Spontaneous celebrations will likely take place throughout the city and around the country.

    The stadium has a capacity for 36,000 spectators; crowds in the area will be large. Pedestrian and vehicular congestion will be prevalent around the Stadium and throughout the downtown area. Police roadblocks are likely, to aid the movement of the President and visiting dignitaries.

    • Avoid the area round the Siaka Stevens Stadium and downtown Freetown.
    • Monitor local media for updates.
    • Avoid crowds.
    • Avoid demonstrations.
    • Be aware of your surroundings.
