Dodo village, located in a remote part of Moyamba District, was devastated by the Ebola outbreak. Quarantines forced the villagers to eat most of their seeds and animals to survive. With financial support from the Ambassador’s Special Self-Help Program, Dodo Youth Farmer’s Association is rebuilding the community’s agriculture. Villagers have purchased tools, cultivated 20 acres of cassava, and built a facility to store and process gari – a cassava byproduct. U.S. Mission is proud to work with groups like Dodo Youth Farmers to support Sierra Leone’s recovery
